Fairchild Air Force Base Child Development Center
The Air Force had a challenge for architects, engineers, and contractors
design and build a turnkey facility like no other. Fairchild Air Force Bases
Child Development Center is the result of that design build competition.
With things like oversized gutters to protect children from snow sliding off the
roof and colors to inherently guide them to their rooms, the Center is a place where
children can be safe and secure while they are stimulated and nurtured.
It is definitely working, too. In the first seven months enrollment went from 150
to 220 and, after moving into the facility, administrators noticed less conflict
among children, something they attribute to the "well-planned space." |
