Celebrating Kylee Monroe: Advancing Design Research on a Global Stage
We’re incredibly proud to celebrate one of our own—Kylee Monroe—for representing Bernardo Wills at the EDRA56 Conference in Halifax, Nova Scotia!
This was Kylee’s first time attending the Environmental Design Research Association conference, and she made her mark by presenting her Master’s project on Defensible Design Strategies Against Wildfire for the Silver Valley communities. Her research explores how green infrastructure can help mitigate wildfire risk—an urgent and growing challenge across the Northwest and beyond.
The conference brought together an inspiring and interdisciplinary group of professionals from around the world, and Kylee was honored to present alongside them. She represented both the University of Idaho’s Landscape Architecture and Environmental Design Program and the Bernardo Wills team with professionalism, curiosity, and a passion for community-focused design.
Kylee’s hard work, insight, and commitment to meaningful design inspire us all—and we can’t wait to see where her career (and research) takes her next. Here's to advancing resilient communities through thoughtful design!
