Celebrating Friendsgiving at Bernardo Wills

Thanksgiving is a time for gratitude, reflection, and a little bit of fun — and at Bernardo Wills, we celebrated all three with our annual Friendsgiving event. While the food was so good that we didn’t get any photos (truly, it disappeared faster than we could snap it!), we did capture the highlights of another favorite part of the day: our DIY swag store, which we affectionately named BWick & Mortar.

BWick & Mortar gave our team the chance to pick their favorite swag items, including sweatshirts, hats, totes, and journals. But this wasn’t just about grabbing some cool gear; each item became a personal canvas. With patches, pins, and stickers, team members added their own creative touches, customizing their items in ways that reflect their personalities and our fun, collaborative culture.

Watching everyone interact with the DIY swag store was a reminder of why we love what we do. Our team is the heart of Bernardo Wills, and celebrating together strengthens the creativity, camaraderie, and energy that we bring to every project. From carefully folding sweatshirts to applying the final patch, the afternoon was full of laughter, friendly debates over designs, and the quiet satisfaction of finishing a personal masterpiece.

While Friendsgiving is a time to enjoy each other’s company, it’s also a moment to pause and reflect on the relationships that make our work meaningful. We are incredibly grateful to our clients, partners, and friends. Your trust, collaboration, and support allow us to create architecture that serves our communities, honors our clients’ missions, and inspires the people who experience it.

At Bernardo Wills, we believe that culture and community go hand in hand. Events like Friendsgiving are not just about celebrating a holiday; they are about celebrating our people, our shared values, and the joy that comes from creating together…whether that’s a thoughtfully designed building or a fun DIY swag item.

This Friendsgiving, from the BWick & Mortar team to you, we want to say thank you. Thank you for being part of our journey, for supporting our work, and for making our communities better every day. And while the food may have vanished too quickly to photograph, the memories, laughter, and gratitude will stay with us long after the last patch has been pressed.

Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Bernardo Wills!
