Bernardo Wills Welcomes Kyle Madsen, AIA, as Principal and Shareholder

Bernardo Wills is pleased to announce that Kyle Madsen, AIA, has become a Principal and shareholder of the firm, joining the firm’s ownership group and helping shape its next chapter of leadership and growth. 

A licensed architect in Washington, Madsen brings a strong commitment to Spokane and a particular passion for creating places that make communities stronger, healthier, and more resilient. His work and expertise include middle housing, infill development, multifamily housing, historic renovation, and navigating the complexities of local development and land-use requirements.

Madsen’s project experience includes Spokane Rise Apartments, The Landing on Northwest Blvd. and Tierra Vida Apartments in Pasco. His approach combines design with a deep understanding of the forces that shape development. He has spent thousands of hours researching demographics, city code and development patterns to better understand and overcome project roadblocks.  

For Madsen, becoming an owner is also an investment in the community he cares deeply about.  “I love Spokane and believe deeply in its future. Madsen holds both a Master of Architecture and Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Idaho, as well as an Associate of Applied Science in Architectural Technology from BYU-Idaho. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects.  

As Principal, Madsen will continue his architectural practice while taking on an expanded role in the leadership and long-term direction of Bernardo Wills.
